The Bible specifically notes that Mary and Joseph's marriage had not yet be consummated when she became pregnant with Jesus.
She was...you know...a virgin. Like, her and Joseph hadn't had sex yet. You know that, right? :mjstare:

Pedophilic? We don't know the exact age of Mary when she conceived and bore Jesus, but she's speculated to have been anywhere between 12-15. We also don't know how old Joseph was.
You also hit the nail on the head when you said
That is true...but "marriage" then did not always mean immediate consummation. (Basically, just because you got married, that doesn't mean you were hitting it that night.

) It was a social contract between families; that's why there was usually a dowry paid to the wife's family--in essence they were being paid for "losing" their daughter's work contributions.
How else do you think Mary was described as a
virgin, and at the same time was
married to Joseph? :denzelcmonson:
-Incestuous? Joseph and Mary come from two different forks of the messianic lineage; at
best they were distantly related.
-
Pedophilic? Sources say Abraham was informed of Rebeka's birth before Abraham went to sacrifice Isaac (the Binding of Isaac), who was a young boy at the time.
When Abraham's servant went out to find Isaac a wife, Isaac was 37. Rebeka would not have been that much younger than Isaac.
-Incestuous? They were second cousins. Probably too close for today's standards, but it was distant enough in those days. :kanyebp:
I'm not saying that should be a standard for us today; but it was acceptable then.
