Not really. Baseball's doing what they've always done. Besides, look at the teams in the WS in recent years. Boston, Texas, SF, Detroit. St. Louis. The only real small market team that has made it to the WS since TB was KC last year, and they were the big story.

Just like any sport related thing in America, once the US feels like it's not theirs, they tend to turn away. Just let the players show emotion (and they're slowly letting guys do that)
