The New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly identified four candidates as finalists for their open head coach vacancy. The finals are Milwaukee Bucks assistant coaches Darvin Ham and Rajon Rondo, Brooklyn Nets assistant coach Steve Hetzel and San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Sean Sweeney.
This list does not include James Borrego, who finished the season as the Pelicans interim head coach. Borrego took over when New Orleans fired Willie Green after 12 games. New Orleans finished 24-46 under Borrego to end the season.
The Pelicans could also add Jamahl Mosley to the list of candidates. Mosley was recently fired after five seasons as the head coach of the Orlando Magic. New Orleans has been reported to be fans of Mosley for several months now, in anticipation that he would be let go by Orlando.
