Then they couldn't start Bledsoe and Dragic together.

It was ridiculous of Phoenix to give him the max offer sheet and even worse of NO to match.

Yeah it's ridiculous in hindsight but at the time Gordon was doing well.

He really wanted to play for Phoenix, too

gordon aminu and a first rounder for pau gasol :scheme:

would give the pelicans a frontcourt of davis and gasol with anderson as the backup big

gives the lakers a guard that was putting up 22 4 and 3 before being traded, and a backcourt of gordon and kobe can mask gordons height and lack of playmaking skills

the contract is kind of heavy, but i dont see lebron, melo or any free agent coming next year :manny:

Nah man, he wasn't. Gordon had serious health issues and only played nine games for NO before he hit free agency. He never had Harden's all around game either.

My bad I got it mixed up. I was thinking of the 2012-13 year. He's been injured a lot but I remember him putting up big numbers and solid games. He's definitely damaged goods but a lot of it is mental too. He doesn't want to be in New Orleans. I think he wants to be the man elsewhere.

I understand him wanting to leave a couple years ago, but he's stupid if he still wants out of NO still. With Anthony Davis that teams gonna be a contender sooner or later.

He's just one of those guys that doesn't give a fukk about winning if he can't be the main guy. There's just some guys that would rather be the best guy on a shytty team than be the 6th or 7th man on a contender

Pelicans still got a really good team. If they could replace gordon with another serviceable player they could be a playoff team

Won't be happening. They went "all in" this year with trading that pick for Holiday:facepalm:
The plan was to make some noise, and build with a young core. The trade was definitely made with a playoff push in mind. Making the playoffs provides valuable experience for young players, and creates something to build on. The only thing is, they won't be making the playoffs this year:skip:

So trading Gordon at this point, would be hustling backwards, as far as the plans they had for the year. That pick is top 5 protected, I think, but still a dumb trade. Especially considering the fact that they will probably end up with a pick around the 6-12 range based on them being one of the "top" teams that won't make the playoffs
you have to remember the lottery is a gamble. You can't blame them for that trade yet because of as right now they've won that trade. Long term who won that trade tho, the answer is still unknown

he might be the most overrated player in the league

he is a 6th man role AT BEST.

I was really pulling for Eric Gordon a few seasons ago but just can't stay healthy :to:

I still think he could be a 25PPG player if he stayed healthy and motivated.

He'll be alright just the nature of players with injuries he will end up playing a long time as his game isn't all about athleticism but his star ship has sailed...honestly he's the one who should be the 6th man as he can back up either jrue or reke and offers outside shooting and instant offense....I'd rather a slasher versatile guy like reke starting with jrue and ad...

But if the could of traded eric Gordon for someone like granger or gay they should of done it...granger expires this off season and I'm sure they could of resigned him for a good price.
