Here's a solution, the federal government bails out these states, prints the money, sends it to them, problem solved.

ive considered that and thats ok.

i would assume there would be an application process to these funds for the states...and perhaps that the states would have to provide some proposed reforms after the fact (?). am i off-base on that?

thats at least depending on the administration..obviously a biden administration would be more willing to assist...but even then im wondering if there would be certain guidelines for a plan of future solvency so the same problem doesnt re-emerge. thats why im trying to come up with some sort of palatable idea that would help the state but not harm recipients too much.

we are phasing out taxes, or at least were, on recipients here...im even fine with removing them altogether but installing some sort of reduction or tax if the recipient leaves the state upon retirement. i believe there are about 5000 pension recipients from connecticut now living in florida.

Do the states reform spending after that or does the fed print more money to bail them out in another 5 years?

do the states without disgustingly overpromised pensions just get a check to build free water parks or buy everyone a car?

only the residents of these states "benefit" from this "service" that big pensions provide. it would seem that its totally and completely their internal business :ehh:
