People are apparently outraged that a character from the live action Lilo & Stitch movie isn't ethnically Hawaiian

And Idris Elba is not from Baltimore, who gives a fukk? and that also goes to the magaturds that are shytting on Snow White (funny enough that actress would be called "blanquita" (whitey) in most latin american countries)

fukking cast whoever the fukk you want, its acting I know there should be limits like don't use tape and fake teeth to make an irish look asian and shyt like that but enough with this shyt, casting agencies and gonna have to become DNA labs to cast these fukking things.
Shut your Mexican ass up Miguel !
Don't let me catch you saying nikka on here ever again you cosplaying fakkit

People get outraged before even trying to ask what happened.

Very likely that the casting call was for anyone who has lived in Hawaii for years and is familiar with the customs of the place. They likely also asked for a woman of a certain age to play the role.

That brought in a ton of actors and among those actors this one was liked personally the most because filmmaking is a project and anyone who has ever been in charge of or part of a complex project knows that the success of the project can be tied to the personalities of the people working on it. If you don't have chemistry with your coworkers you'll crash out or leave. They wanted someone who met the casting requirements AND wouldn't create friction.

Who is better at being apolitical and not making white people uncomfortable than Asian Americans? Asian Americans who are half white. That's the one two combo right there. With all due love and respect to Asians who are on code, yall have to admit you have the most sell outs. The c00n infection rate in Asian communities is ridiculous. It's a worldwide pandemic with them. Got Asian women who have never even lived in a white country desperate to touch and see white skin. We talk about bedwenches here but black swirling is a tall tree, Asian swirling is a fukking MOUNTAIN. There's no comparison when it comes to racial self hate between African and Asian Americans. Asians have us beat by several country miles.

ADHD version: the cast and crew most likely wanted someone who wouldn't push back on any racism or disrespect on set and the best person for the job 9/10 when you want that is an Asian American or a mixed(Asian and white) person. It is what it is and let's not pretend this movie is anything other than a shameless money grab from a massive corporation fueled by limitless greed.

I agree only because Polynesian people don't have much representation in Hollywood and this seems like an easy way to increase that...but then the other side of me is like this is a fukkin kids movie they could just not watch it...
i lived in hawaii for years...there aren't very many full blooded polynesians there at all....they've been bred out....hawaii is full of asians....and whites...
the polynesians you do see are mostly somoans....

You mean whoever was casting took their time to go to Hawaii, shoot in Hawaii and couldn’t find a native Hawaiian?

They probably ran by an enormous amount of capable people over the time filming on those islands.
