Creating oasis's on the internet is going to be the new wave.
the scary thing is that no one knows the long term effects of this much instant gratification on society. smartphones became super mainstream (kids had em) in 2010. social media runs high school now, it's fukking pathetic. kids get depressed about how many people like their selfies. this wasn't the intended effect of smartphones when they first came out but shyt changed the game.

to play devil's advocate, sedating people with technology is kind of a good thing. technological unemployment is going to wreak havoc on what's left of the middle class. expect a 80% dirt poor 20% rich population in the future. those poor people need something to distract them from the reality that they're slaves only used to make other people rich.
