What's wild is, families have all kinds of dynamics. She may have had an excellent, stable home and had to deal with shyt from time to time. The very upper middle class are 1% too. In 2022 it takes just 500k to put you in the top 1% If the Knowls had an annual combined salary of over 200k yr in the 90's they were 1% and we are not even counting their assets such as their home and salon business. They are over 1% when you add in them assets. Adjuster for inflation their 200k+ salary in the 90's would definitely put them in the 1% category today even if they kids never became superstars

People were told growing up that anyone can go from rags to riches in one generation if they work hard and believe in themselves.
