"People don't want to work anymore". When did this mindset start?

This has always been dumb to me. Who wants to spend the majority of their time doing shyt to make other people money? Of course I'd rather be doing what I want to do when I want to do it. What a revelation.

I work because I have to, not because I want to.

It's rich white man babble.

"Nobody wants to work anymore"

But the job being offered is 40 hours a week manual labor at minimum wage.

I’m befuddled at people not being able to grasp how the current economic climate doesn’t benefit the majority in the ways it did in the past :dahell:

People are only going to eat so much shyt, once the taste of shyt outweighs the benefits you get from eating said shyt the people will naturally adjust and the market will show that.

But the elites and their bootlickers( many of whom post on this very site) just don’t understand because they are used to and assume there is a “natural order” to the world so:

“how dare these people stop eating the shyt we have piled on to their plate even though we keep piling more shyt on the plate, while taking away more and more benefits they got for eating it in the past in an effort to hoard more for ourselves”.

Nobody has a PENSION anymore, when at one point that was pretty common even at factory jobs….people can barely afford a decent house in many places even if they make okay money and work hard, The cost of a university education is ridiculous and a bachelors degree barely gets you entry level work in many places, health care is ridiculously expensive and jobs fight tooth and nail to not have to pay for those benefits ( they also fought against “Obamacare”),

inflation has outpaced wages by a large margin

This all makes sense from where I view it and things will probably get worse.

We always look to the people for blame but the other side has let greed get so far out of control that they are shooting themselves in the foot.

And now they are having a fit because people aren’t eating the shyt they are piling on the plate .:yeshrug:
Nikkas fantasize about being Scrooge McDuck

The fulfillment of a hard day's work is human nature. It ain't natural to want to sit around all day. And millennials/gen Z work hard as fukk. Nikkas working two jobs, no social life, just to barely get by every month

Nikkas tired of being exploited, underpaid, and treated like shyt by customers/bosses. If CEOs even tried to meet nikkas halfway this wouldn't be as big an issue as it is

COVID was the straw that broke a lot of backs

Facts.

I dont wanna go to work. I do it because I have to, plus I got a family. If i tried to take some bullshyt stand against the system and refused to work, that would show how little I care about my family.

If nobody else is feeling this, I do. People taking this stance living with someone who's probably bussing they a$$ to pay bills or they're on welfare.

It is and always has been manager propaganda. You can see it in the weasel words they use too like "labor shortage"

If you don't pay people what they are worth, they won't work for you. Its really that simple. Our economic system is designed to reward greed though. You're considered successful for 'cutting operating costs'(not paying people enough) and optimizing productivity (cutting their breaks and vacation) as well as restructuring the organization(firing and laying off people) they use certain types of language to obscure the shyttyness of what they're actually doing to people. The most infuriating thing is the media is on their side and won't push back on them. This is an example of how modern news can leave the viewer feeling even more ignorant than they did before they tuned in.
You speak some truth.

America is a rat-race. Fueled by competition, greed and capitalism.

Remember the great resignation?
Roughly 47 million people quit their jobs last year: 'All of this is uncharted territory'

People are being fed up with the unfair treatment by egoistical tyrants just for little compensation. Overworked for peanuts is not the wave.
More people are starting to enroll in work from home jobs, others are starting their own business. Making your money, setting your own schedule and not dealing with a toxic environment is crucial for a person's mental health.

Besides, vacation time in the states is very minimal. Compared to working overseas in Europe
Should the U.S. be taking notes from Europe when it comes to PTO?.

Know your value or others will decide for you.

Man, when this pandemic was in its 1st yr, I'd ask myself "what would my wife say if I was taking a stand against capitalism and work culture in the U.S. and quit my job?":mjlol:

That's some shyt you do when you alone and you got family that will put up with a freeloader:pachaha:

I have actually seen ppl with families(wife and kids) during this shyt, stop going to work. This was when them checks were being given out and ppl were getting the PPE loans. When it all stopped, they were stressin out talkin about they need a job because they got a family to feed smh

This is a testimony to how giving some impoverished people money will not change their behavior and they'll always be broke no matter what.

If you're working and get a lump sum if money, you're supposed to keep working and tighten up your current situation with that lump sum. Thats how you close the wealth gap these smart dumb mfers keep talking about But their actions prove otherwise. They do it to themselves most of the time. Don't feel sorry for them idiots.

You're missing the point thinking nikkas just gave up en masse. That's an oversimplification

What the great resignation represents is people exercising their options. The days of being a grunt worker for 20 years was already over but post COVID if the conditions are shytty enough nikkas will say fukk this:manny: . The options then become

Finding another job, because there's no lack of jobs out there currently. Plenty of people are waking up to this and are at a new job within a week of quitting the last one

Go into business for yourself/Elevate that side hustle into a main. A lot of this happened during the pandemic

Freeload like you mentioned, but it's not happening nearly as much as nikkas are implying, playing into the "Nobody wants to work anymore" rhetoric

You can call it a bullshyt stand against the government, but people that think like this never changed or created shyt. And we see how many companies have begun to raise wages and offer benefits BEGGING nikkas to work for them

Were the Amazon workers that fought and created a union taking a bullshyt stand?

But if I don’t pay my workers an exploitative wage, then I can’t make a profit :mjcry:

Then you shouldn’t be a business owner :mjlol:

Yea we should just close the largest wealth inequality gap in human history by just saving our $1200 stimulus checks :mjlol:

Just say you hate poor people and move on.
