your weird as hell. that should make you stronger.

when ppl remind me of my faith. i thank them inside for being so helpful and keeping me on track.

I'm weird for having doubts? It's not even the biblical scriptures and teachings that's my problem. It's the community. The hypocrisy is finally getting to me. :ehh:

Church has been good to me...I learned how to play the piano to the Glory of God and more importantly it's helping me to avoid the hell fire.

The devil has taken over your life, I bet your boyfriend eats ass :scust:
Don't have a boyfriend:childplease:, and analingus is a big no-no over here :comeon:

Get mad because people actually care about you, AND most importantly, your spiritual life. :manny:

It's cool... Like you said, you're a grown adult, you don't have to do anything you don't want to. If you don't wanna go to church, if it's not in your heart, don't go. But to criticize the Church and church people for doing what they're supposed to do is childish...

I was raised in a devout christian home (no halloween, no going out on fridays because we had to go to prayer service, church on sunday -- both services, no secular music, etc), though I was always one that liked what they called "secular" living more than most that lived in a similar situation. Not sure if it's because my house had more rules. Now I'm a legal adult, and now starting my own search for the truth (or lack of one) alot of people in my life who are devout christians keep asking me why I don't attend church often, or whether I pray bfore I go to bed, or what was the last bible verse I read. I'm not an atheist, and not even sure if I"m agnostic, but shyt ain't right with the church community and frankly don't want to worry myself with it, so I decide to leave.

I just wish Christians would stop putting tabs on me making sure that my faith is still the same as theirs :stopitslime:
thats your fault though.

You adopt a religion and aren't willing to question it so don't get mad when people try you.

Why don't you just tell them why you stopped going? If you have questions ask. If you're not satisfied with the answers then keep searching. Just don't give up. If you don't get your answers right away don't stop asking them. Maybe you need to ask someone else but don't stop asking. Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.

She is only searching the so called truth because there is something her personal life she doesn't want to give up.
It keeps her conscience in good shape when she can convince herself there is no hell.

@Regine Hunter

Since you negged me I decided to actually read your post..

The best I can help you with on the religious tip is that "God" breathed life into man so that means you're a part of him.

If only by your consciousness you could just be nature observing itself at the least

Religion is food for the babies but some people need it so don't judge your people if the book is all they need to be good

If youre past those traps though... The only salvation in understanding the world is by knowing the inner voice that speaks to you

Forget the books, coz only man writes books :yeshrug:

I had to dig abd find this thread cuz my churchy cuzzins got me feeling some type of way this morning. My granny was a big sticker for church we'd be 15 deep in her 79 pinto station wagon going to church cuz she'd drive around town picking up kids. Now that im grown I just dont like the idea of church. But I do remember my granny telling me u dont hafta go to a building to worship. "Anytime two or more are together in his name, he is in the midst of them" and thats just how ive been living. I get in my bible when the urge hits me but I think its propaganda really. I smoke I drank n I cuss like a sailor. Those are my 3 deadly sins. I still believe in god n jesus but I dont think things are how they were told to me as a child attending sunday school. I feel religion was used to control the slaves who didnt know any better. Here lately my cuzzins have been on this u not saved campaign. And I wanna be mean and tell em to wake tf up. But I dont wanna look like satan posting that on a youth ministers fb page. :(

You're not prying. I probably should've expressed that in the OP
I stopped going because the church community at the place I attended liked pointing fingers and believing they had the highest moral code in the world. The churches I also attended was very elitist, not a friendly place to go to. The preachers were all hypocritical

OK. I'm not going to defend anyone or say that you are wrong, but I am going to recommend that you check out other churches. White church, Asian church, Hispanic church, mixed race church, small church, mid-size, mega, whatever. Just see what else is out there where they keep it 100.
