Shaw and Tomljenovic ? Vactruth ? :hum:

Actually Al is coming into its own in the vaccine safety debate thanks to research by Chris Shaw, PhD, at the University of British Columbia. Shaw has stunning credentials that make it clear he is overwhelmingly qualified to study this topic. He's a professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the UBC and he holds cross appointments with the Department of Experimental Medicine and the Graduate Program in Neuroscience. He is the author of more than 100 peer reviewed articles as well as numerous book chapters and special reviews and has edited four books on neuroscience themes. He has done extensive work on the link between Al and ALS, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's. Now he's also addressing how exposure to Al could be linked to the autism epidemic.

published a study by Lucija Tomljenovic, and Chris Shaw and the title asked the question that demands an answer, Do aluminum vaccine adjuvants contribute to the rising prevalence of autism?

Dr. Lucija Tomljenovic, PhD. with help from her team at the Neural Dynamics Research Group in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of British Colombia, published a paper outlining interesting research regarding the efficacy of the Gardasil vaccines.(1) This is one of many proofs against the efficiency and effectiveness of the Gardasil vaccination, one said to protect girls against cervical cancer and HPV infection.

Cite a site called vactruth brehs
I'm citing a scientific study that just happened to be reposted by a site called vactruth. I know you're looking for a way to discredit anything posted that exposes the illnesses, deaths and falsehoods revolving around vaccinations, but that tactic is not going to work with me.

40 Reasons Why You Should Never Vaccinate Infants:

- Jagannath Chatterjee.( Fighting Vaccines Since 1985).

  1. The mercury used in vaccines is ethyl mercury. According to Indian doctors this is 1000 times more toxic than the usual methyl mercury.
  2. The aluminum present in vaccines makes the mercury, in any form, 100 times more toxic.
  3. As per an independent study aluminum and formaldehyde present in vaccines can increase the toxicity of mercury, in any form, by 1000 times.
  4. As per a Tehelka article on Autism, children are receiving 250 times more mercury through vaccines than they can possibly tolerate. The same article states that if one considers the WHO limit for

:mjlol: I love how everything is 100/1000 times worse!

There's more aluminum in aspirin and antacid tablets, and there's more mercury in a tuna sandwich and breast milk. These lists are vague, misleading garbage.

I'll take that down because all the sources aren't cited. Now address the other two posts that i made

Yeah they have PH.D. In Ophtalmology.
Tomljenovic :
Neural Dynamics Research Group, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, University of British Columbia, 828 W. 10th Ave, Vancouver, BC, Canada V5Z 1L8

Shaw :
Departments of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and Experimental Medicine and the Graduate Program in Neuroscience, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia,
But let's say that they are qualified to conduct an epidemiology/public health study which are usually done by epidemiologists.

Their study is readable here (PDF link) : http://omsj.org/reports/tomljenovic 2011.pdf
And here is the abstract :
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are serious multisystem developmental disorders and an urgent global public health concern. Dysfunctional immunity and impaired brain function are core deficits in ASD. Aluminum (Al), the most commonly used vaccine adjuvant, is a demonstrated neurotoxin and a strong immune stimulator. Hence, adjuvant Al has the potential to induce neuroimmune disorders.

When assessing adjuvant toxicity in children, two key points ought to be considered:
  • (i) children should not be viewed as “small adults” as their unique physiology makes them much more vulnerable to toxic insults;
  • and (ii) if exposure to Al from only few vaccines can lead to cognitive impairment and autoimmunity in adults, is it unreasonable to question whether the current pediatric schedules, often containing 18 Al adjuvanted vaccines, are safe for children?

By applying Hill's criteria for establishing causality between exposure and outcome we investigated whether exposure to Al from vaccines could be contributing to the rise in ASD prevalence in the Western world. Our results show that:
  • (i) children from countries with the highest ASD prevalence appear to have the highest exposure to Al from vaccines;
  • (ii) the increase in exposure to Al adjuvants significantly correlates with the increase in ASD prevalence in the United States observed over the last two decades (Pearson r=0.92, pb0.0001);
  • and (iii) a significant correlation exists between the amounts of Al administered to preschool children and the current prevalence of ASD in seven Western countries, particularly at 3–4 months of age (Pearson r=0.89–0.94, p=0.0018–0.0248).

The application of the Hill's criteria to these data indicates that the correlation between Al in vaccines and ASD may be causal. Because children represent a fraction of the population most at risk for complications following exposure to Al, a more rigorous evaluation of Al adjuvant safety seems warranted.
As I don't have the medical background to talk about it here are two (among plenty) blog posts refuting and expressing concerns about the bias of the study :
> And more specifically about how they use the mean prevalence for the US instead of acknowledging that some were at 48/10,000 and others at 212/10,000 with the same vaccine intake. Said data would have disproved their study.
> And more specifically about how they didn't prove any causation but simply a mere correlation between ADS rate and Aluminium use.

Shaw and Tomljenovic are seen as frauds by the medical world and are only positively quoted by anti-vaxxers.
But more importantly here what stated the study at the end of the PDF :
Acknowledgments
The authors would like to thank Dr. James Garrett for his invaluable help with statistical analysis. This work was supported by the Katlyn Fox and the Dwoskin Family Foundations.

So I did my research (a quick one I reckon)

About Us
Who We Are

The Katlyn Fox Foundation is a parent-founded charitable foundation focused on raising funds for independent scientific research into the safety and efficacy of children’s vaccines. The funds will go directly to independent medical researchers as well as vaccine awareness groups.

Our Story
On the afternoon of August 16th 2001, our precious little girl Katlyn passed away in her sleep. She was only 22 months old. After conversations with various medical professionals and through extensive personal research we believe that Katlyn passed away due to complications from vaccines.

Our Hope
Is to provide parents with the best possible information about vaccines, so that they can make informed decisions on whether or not vaccines are suitable for their children.

Dwoskin Family Foundations (http://dwoskinfamilyfoundation.com/)

The Dwoskin Family Foundation’s Mission
The mission of the foundation has been carried over to CMSRI.

According to the CMSRI website, the foundation’s mission is to:
  • Provide scientific research to address gaps in the knowledge about the biological and genetic risk factors for vaccine induced brain and immune dysfunction, including lack of adequate safety data, particularly for delayed or chronic health outcomes
  • Evaluate the biological and genetic reactivity of vaccine additives such as aluminum adjuvants (immune stimulating agents), mercury preservatives and other toxic ingredients
  • Research the effects of multiple vaccine exposures and their potential impact on development of chronic illness, disability, cancer, fertility and neurodegenerative disease
  • Evaluate bias in reporting of vaccine risks and benefits
  • Research and quantify incidence of novel vaccine-associated autoimmune diseases
  • To provide information to government agencies responsible for developing national vaccine policies, the media, and the public to address real and perceived vaccine safety concerns
CMSRI firmly believes it is possible to expeditiously discover the significant causal factors in the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, autism, autoimmune diseases and other serious chronic health conditions and in the importance of prevention as a strategy to address these critical obstacles to optimum health.

Just saying but if a pro-intelligent design (or anti-evolution) study were to be supported by religious foundations. I'd have doubts regarding the paper's legitimacy.

Well the term "expert" in and of itself is something that can be presented and molded.

I've never gotten any shots or vaccinations. Haven't been sick since 1985.
Pressure from my wife and doctor forced me to get my 2 yr old her mmr shot two days ago. This is her first shot ever. I'm now currently up with her nursing a 102 degree fever as I type this. Kid hasn't had a fever this high EVER, and not one fever since early last year. She's telling me she doesn't feel good. Shyt is breaking my heart especially since I knew better. I just to're into my wife like I never had before. Now she's crying 'I'm sorry'. The doctor is some sickly looking lesbian white bytch.

Needless to say, this kid will never see another vaccination in her life so long as I'm alive.

Can't believe I was so stupid. The logic behind these shots just make zero sense. "Hey, let's compromise the health of a perfectly healthy child to 'improve' their health, guys!''

I think this forum needs to stick to pawgs and hip hop. Any time we attempt true intellectual discussion, false clues and dead ends are abound, and the voices of idiocy far exceed the voices of reason.

People tend to listen to random internet commenters because
1. they feel it's more relatable, like they're giving you the hook up. It feels more personal and therefore your mind is more likely to accept this disinformation.
2. inherent distrust/dislike or a bad experience with pharmaceuticals/government departments involved in the administration/delivery of vaccines.
3. The average person isn't very knowledgeable, and tends to exhibit sheep like tendencies, i.e. being led by idiots without questioning.
4. low to zero scientific literacy.
5. Denial.
6. Luck carrying them this far 'without vaccines'.
7. Falsified reports on the 'link' between vaccination and autism spectrum disorder.
