This whole social safety net and civil service thing = socialism is a false narrative started by Movement Conservatives in the 1930s and to a lesser extent, John Birch Society members in the 50s & 60s, in attempts to destroy FDR's New Deal, Eisenhower's Middle Way Policy and Johnson's Great Society.

It's the same playbook hard right conservatives today use to equate black history, the Civil Rights movement, etc. all under the umbrella of CRT.

Adam Smith, King Capitalism himself, advocated for those very things in The Theory Of Moral Sentiments and in Wealth Of Nations. Have you read either of those or even Marx or Engels? If not, shut the fukk up.
I don't give a fukk about those books. As I said before we have a mixed system some things are capitalist some socialist. Those programs are socialist.

People hate socialism then use public roads everyday

As many wheel bearings and cracked rims I've had to replace over the years I sincerely believe a private company could maintain roads better.

But instead our tax money is funneled through infinite levels of bureaucracy. Money going to all sorts of "friends" of elected officials and in the end nothing really gets fixed.

If thats "socialism", are you surprised people don't really want it?

It's obvious cause you don't know what the fukk you're talking about.

:mjlol:

And the nerve to name yourself after a brilliant, intelligent character who was always giving book recommendations to Bashir.

So do we have a system that is pure capitalism or is it a mixed system?

I'm guessing you don't know what "public" means in public roads:mjlol:

A wheel tax is a vehicle registration fee commonly used on automobiles generally less than 8000 pounds in the United States by some cities and counties. The problem that a wheel tax attempts to solve is that many people come into a community from outside to work and, as a result, use the community's roads, water, sewer, and so forth, but pay no taxes into the community as a result of living outside of the municipality.[1] It is an example of a problem in governance sometimes called the free rider problem. The tax is charged to motorists based upon the vehicle's weight, and it is often collected at the time of annual vehicle registration renewals.[2] A proposed wheel tax in Omaha was $50 per year.[3

If you own a vehicle and pay registration fees, you pay a wheel tax. Driving on public roads isn't socialism. You PAY to drive on these roads.

Lol you think capitalism is stable? Its literally destroying the planet and may drive us to extinction. Socialism is the only way we're going find our way out of this mess.

There's no such thing as a system being 100% perfect. Socialism has worked in some places and failed in others.
