I've noticed a trend of vocals being more subdued and introverted but they have alot of character. Yeah Summer Walker isn't Whitney Houston but her voice is sultry af and very soothing. Her raspy breathy quality and her fractured phrasing really catches the ear. More emphasis seems to be put on being distinct than being dynamic singers
