People Who Cheat While In A Relationship, Why Do You Do It?

I've cheated in a "serious" relationship once. And I put serious in asterisks because it's the only girl I can say I've ever loved or had any serious emotion for. Hell, even now she's talking to me about marriage(not entertaining it until we both finish college). We've been together for awhile. We dated throughout my entire HS years, but I eventually switched to a new school across town. I'd always dealt with the temptation but never gave in. Even one of her "friends" pulled her t*ts out at my boys crib and tried to throw it at me. But when I transferred...?
The thought of being caught? Wasn't concerned about it. They didn't know her..she didn't know them. One girl who was a bad ass cheerleader kept throwing it my way. Eventually, I gave in to the lust and slept with her. Numerous of times. Why? Like I said, wasn't worried about being caught. Lust set in. And to be blatantly honest..I wanted some new p*ssy. Ironically enough, she found out when the girl I was cheating with got upset that I wouldn't leave my girl.
She was devastated, but took me back. After that, I pretty much conceded shyt wasn't worth it & I agree with the OP's sentiment; don't be in a relationship if you're gonna step out.
Better for both parties that way. Harsh reality is though, that you can't predict the circumstances these kind of things. Even though you care about someone, at times sexual urges can get the best of you, and it's not as easy and just breaking it off with someone when the urges arise for the majority of people. Anyone arguing otherwise is arguing a nuts & berries approach. I wish it were that simple, but it's not.
Why? Selfishness, maybe? People don't want anyone else to have their s/o, and if they can get their fix without them finding out?

everytime i cheated i was drunk. not an excuse, but shyt didn't mean i loved my girl any less..... she didn't see it that way though 
i honestly regret everytime i did though. it is foul and isn't a good thing to do, no matter how many reasons dudes try to justify it.

nah but basically I was going through problems with my girl. we had a fight right before my vacation to Jamaica wit my boys. I got to vacation, and at the clubs girls were just throwing it at me. I was pissed at my girl, I was away from home for 7 days...no porn, no puzzy...I went to bed horny every night
last night of the trip, I said fukk it, and gave in to temptation, met a b!tch at the club went back to her place and layed pipe. Its crazy cuz my phone was dead and I her place was in the hood, in jamaica! Had to borrow my boys phone just incase sh!t got real or nikkas tried to rob...rolled up in her hood...seen nikkas outside shirts off smokin trees...looke at her lil house that was about the size of 2 rooms. walked passed her baby and her roomate who was sleepin...went to the room. didnt have a door, just a sheet to to close off her room....went to her bed and the rest his history. chick wasnt even all that, just needed to bust one off...and the idea of goin to another country and gettin strange with no strings attatched overweighed my good judgement.
