My granddaddy hates that word and he grew up in Montgomery during the Civil Rights era (Dude was a Free Mason)

Did you forget about the era where we referred to each other as "brotha"

Wether we like it or not, nikka is too big of a word now. Non blacks will continue to say it even if blacks stop saying it.

Masons are good?
Back in the day they had Mason lodges that provided for the community in ways such as food drives, donations to education and "Big Brother" programs
Example:
Stories of the Ages | Black History - Freemasons
“Within a society that emphasized the degradation of blacks, these organizations provided an environment where they could actively use their talents and abilities. … The lodges offered recreation, companionship, recognition and talent development, which made life in a segregated world more bearable.”
