this might happen in a liberal state like california or new york, but if u are talking about AAs most live in the republican south and would be lucky to get offered even 25% of that. plus welfare has work/school requirements in addition to being cut off after a few years. a single mother would be better off accepting the working husband & i'm not sure but i really don't think that makes her unable to get benefits cuz i'm pretty sure the requirements are a minimum $ per household not a yes/no of whether the spouse is working

Usually peer pressure. The kids who actually grow up in the hood, but have a decent family support system are caught on by the ones who living a more rachet lifestyle, and in the process get teased. Insults like "talking white" get thrown around constantly on the school yard toward the youngins when that one kid who's parents raised him right is noticeably different than the other section 8 kids, and in the process gets teased and wants to be more like them to fit in. This shyt often carries over into highschool to the first few years.
