With the exception of Louisiana and Mississippi a good rule of thumb is that the further West you go the less percentage of Black people that there will be. The reason that Louisiana and Mississippi are outliers is because they have small populations.

The most slaves were in Virginia and South Carolina. The territories of Louisiana and Mississippi didn't open up until the 1800s after France sold the Louisiana territories to the USA after France was defeated in the Haitian Revolution. The slaves in Mississippi and Louisiana are mostly from places like Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee. They were "sold down the river" from slave markets in Louisville which is how they ended up in Mississippi and Louisiana.

Not true at all. Louisiana was a major slave port for the South like the Carolinas.

Louisiana was were you sent slaves that couldnt be broken. That's why are in the top 2 for slave rebellions.
