because of the current day trend of writing your entire program around authority figures who basically make up the entire card themselves, as fans we have essentially lost out on what used to be one of the most crucial aspects of pro wrestling... and that is the challenge.

tonight john cena and randy orton will have a match to determine who faces brock in the championship match, which is definitely cool because it actually puts something at stake for tonight's match and gives us all more of a reason to wanna watch it.

but let's assume for a moment that orton wins. okay great, it's orton v brock at the next ppv. which again is cool... but it also paints the wwe into a corner creatively. because now the only reason these 2 have a match in the first place is because they're scheduled to.

think about how much differently the randy orton character would be perceived if he came out on raw last week and CHALLENGED brock lesnar. like what if he came out on some "fukk this waiting to be a handed a title shot nonsense. i'm the fukkin man, i've waited long enough, brock ain't shyt. i'm done with the games. i'm callin you out you bubble face show up once a month punk muthafukka."

^^ why don't we get THAT in wrestling anymore.

there's so many more places you could take it when you do something like that.

- WILL brock respond?
- HOW will brock respond?
- WILL he grant randy orton a title shot?

you know... like an actual angle? with like... anticipation and stuff?

Oh, another "I miss the good ol days" wrasslin' post. Intriiiiiguing... *blames PG*

Nah, seriously tho. I would like to see that happen especially since it's in Orton's character to do just that.
