It's sad, they told the nurse to not get on a commercial jet, and what does she do, get on a commercial jet to threaten the lives of thousands, ironic cause she's a nurse, you wouldn't think a nurse would be that ignorant.

She was in denial. We never think it could happen to us.
Doesn't excuse her negligence and there has to be consequences for individuals breaking quarantine orders.

We had a patient come to our ER on monday & he was the same decent as duncan. He was shytting EVERYWHERE & it smelled like a dead person feces after they die. We put him in a OR isolation room. Blood tests came back negative, turns out he has upper gastrointestinal bleeding that was causing all his problems but it was very surreal & chaotic.

I think the other shoe will drop ONLY if another patient dies. Right now the family who had direct contact with duncan have no symptoms, neither does anyone who directly entered the apt including Dallas county judge clay jenkins who went in with no gear.

This what people don't understand. Have you ever seen a person with full blown aids??? Are you aware of the massive amounts of vomiting & diarrhea that goes along with that, the symptoms are like that with ebola patients. The disease has to be "active" in order catch it & that's what I think is being lost, when you have a high fever along with diarrhea, that alone is very contagious coupled with blood mixed in with it can be a disaster & that's how the RN's caught it.

For those who don't know Texas Health(presby dallas) is one of the best hospitals in the state & in the country. If this would've happened at parkland, baylor or a HCA hospital then we would have MAJOR problems dealing with this disease....

I'm assuming you're a nurse (please correct me if I'm wrong), and you obviously have more knowledge about this than myself, but how can you claim that the disease can only be 'active' in order to catch it, when the family was in the apartment with Duncan and (allegedly) not caught it while it was active, but the nurses with protective gear did who at least had SOME training in this area? It's not as if many people in the states have dealt with Ebola patients on the regular or at all, so why believe that it can only be transmitted when it's 'active'? I know that's what the CDC claims, but this whole debacle has proved they have done some dumb shyt, whether mistakenly or on purpose.

@heart damn breh, you work there? :ohhh: stay safe
No, I work at a HCA hospital not far from there.

No I'm a pharmacist & the clinical coordinator at my hospital so I am talking to rph's rn's & md's not only from that hospital but all the hospital networks in north texas.

The answer to your 2nd question is we don't know duncan's condition while at home. He went to presby the 1st time with a temp & the practitioner(who I know) that treated him thought it was just a viral infection. Also duncan fell out in the ER & was vomiting with diarrhea. I think duncan's condition worsen while he was at presby & NOT at home which is why none of his family member have symptoms of the disease which brings me to my next point...

The two things have NOTHING to do with each other but are similar. Those two things are herpes & ebola. IF you have a "flare up" with herpes, it's not wise to sleep with someone unprotected. But if the herpes are dormant then you're fine. With ebola which is much more serious the "flares" with that is fever, vomiting & especially diarrhea.

To be honest none of these hospitals were equip to deal with this. All us healthcare professionals were ignorant on the "proper protocol". We have hazmat suits in our pharmacy for chemo procedures so we're a median hospital compared to a mega hospital like presby dallas so I know they have them.

Again if no one else tests positive & neither one of these RN's die then it can be controlled, but if the opposite happens then that pandora's box will explode. There's a lot of misinformation & fear mongering going on which is wrong. Also another tidbit of info is neither of the rn's affected had on PPC & there's the 1st problem...

I commend this nurse for operating on duncan but what the fukk? You get on a fukking plane after you THINK you may have ebola? Why go? Why call cdc knowing good and well you MAY be sick? This is like those people who get other opinions on mischievous shyt knowing good and damn well it is WRONG! Wake her fat ass up and throw her in a jailed quarantine unit! Handcuff that ignorant woman and let her know that she  royally and put thousands (if not more) at risk here in the states. Duncan trying to take lives from the grave out here. fukkkkkkkkkk this pisses me off. They need to fire her ass if she survives but i hope ahe comes to

She was flying to do some wedding planning. This is real life evidence that women take weddings too far. :snoop:
