I don't think Pete Hines was fired. I do believe that he saw a change of culture in Bethesda and left before shyt got really bad.

The core Video Game audience is 14-25, and are not familiar with big business fukkery.

High-Level one would think Microsoft buying Bethesda would lead to bigger things because they would have more finances, when really it's usually the opposite and those dreams just stay dreams.

Microsoft acquired Bethesda 3.5 years ago. It's more likely that they've released the last of the big projects he had under his belt and whatever golden handcuffs he's had have fully vested and he's ready to enjoy that money and the freedom it brings.
