Great interview. Love hearing both mention they actively dig for records and make beats all the time. I always felt like the decline of many great rap producers coincided with the decline in big budgets and album sales during the 00s. Suddenly nobody wanted to pay big money for beats and even if you got a placement you were getting killed by sample clearances/publishing. But in an era where you can drop whatever you want on Bandcamp or streaming platforms, via independent labels with no sample clearances...surely the classic producers will come back outside. Havoc and Pete. Premo. Large Pro. All these guys are really active right now.

Pete also said he's doing an album with Rome Streetz. That's the type of shyt these guys need to do.
