Feel frustrated Pete Rock

Time are changing

They've been changing

They are ALWAYS going to change

And Pete Rock can't change the fact that things can and will change

So be bitter Pete, feel a way about it, everybody entitled to an opinion

But not everybody opinion holds weight with everyone else

It's a subjective world we live in

I would tell Pete, that after he gets out of his emotions, to realize we closing in on 2 THOUSAND EIGHTEEN (2018), -and it's been THIRTY (30), fuccin years since the 80s my G. And it's been over TWENTY since the "golden era" of Hip Hop...

Life progresses, things don't stay the same, and no one is a lesser artist than you because they don't spit how you want them to spit, so with all due respect Mr. Rock (and I do have respect for the LEGEND)...

GET OVER IT

:wow:

I don't disagree with your sentiment at all but it's essentially undeniable that the substance and more importantly the VARIETY of hip hop or rap is almost nonexistent..... most of our artist have zero artistic integrity because it's all about the money now ... sadly

its not about any of that.
its the lack of effort in the music.

I dont think anyone would argue that most of the music coming out is just nonsense to get popping...
...there are no hip hop heads anymore.
Its just folks trying to get youtube views and stunt.

Most people on here can agree that Post Malone is a joke...but its only obvious because he's a white dude that just started this...
...but the reality is most of the music made today is just as fake as Malones stuff.

Anyway...I see that Waka is 31...he really cant pull that "old head" card because he aint young anymore.

I disagree whole heartedly

It's as diverse as it's ever been

You just have to look for what you want fam. There's great threads around here that show dope MC MC's, let's not act like there's not any anymore

It's all about balance and I feel the game is pretty fuccin balanced

It's just people in they feelings cuz being "lyrical" isn't the standard it once was, and it's not held up to the same regards, get over it

I don't think there are no hip hop heads anymore.

I disagree breh, look for them, they out there

the difference is you didnt have to look before.
It was just apart of the culture.

Hip hop heads dictated what was accepted.
Its nowhere near the same.

To be respected you had to be able to spit...have your own style.

You really think a top 10 or 20 from 20 years ago is equal to a top 20 from right now?
