Blasphemous. Hit-Boy is hip-hop’s current MVP.

Pete lookin like a whole clown out here. Continues to make a fool out of himself

That song is nice but he sounds like Nip there with the flow etc., not a bad thing but sounds like Nipsey in a lot of ways... Maybe one of his inspirations but I hear Nip listening to that.

Pete Rock is a full on weirdo. Not just for his Nas takes but some of the strange outright bizarre shyt he used to post on social media and how almost EVERYONE whose worked with him extensively has at one point been fed up with him. Pete ain’t all the way there.

Probably best for both Nas and Hit Boy to just ignore him. He seems like the type that just wants attention. Why he’s always seemed so fixated with Nas i don’t know, but dude be off his rocker
He was with odds with his partner CL for a good minute so I think you are right. He seems off in many ways, legend and has some incredible beats but I see it the way you do this dude is off....

I mean he’s not exactly wrong

Hit boy is not a bad producer at all, he definitely has great beats…but lost in all this excitement over ‘Omg new Nas’ is that we got 5 albums and not 1 is classic or unskippable. Maybe not even a 4.5 micer. It’s more about the blessing of getting new Nas music, more about quantity than pure quality.

Production wise there is no ‘Be’, no Almost Dry, no hell hath no fury, not even a 4:44. Dudes like Alchemist, madlib, Pharrell etc have better batting average on fully produced albums. You get 5 cracks at it with Nas you supposed to have at least 2 classics

Now in Hit boys favor he hs a more diverse sound than those guys. His range is crazy, he doesn’t have a signature ‘sound’. But the potential downside to that is I you just KNOW a hit boy produced album is gon have a bunch of beats you don’t like and don’t even fit Nas

Whatever beats Nas chooses, he's still relevant and still puts in a lot of work.

Pete Rock is irrelevant these days. Him and Melle Mel should open up a bitter old man podcast.

A good faith criticism from a musician is not hiding behind keyboard and liking tweets that joke about another artist.

KD3 and KD2 are easy 4.5 mics. I’ll take KD2 over all those albums apart from maybe Be.
