It’s a good, quick interview bout 40 minutes
He talks about his influences, crate digging, his top 5 albums if he had a time capsule (Illmatic, Paid In Full, Criminal Minded, No More Mr. Nice Guy, and Mecca & the Soul Brother)
Then his top 5 Soul albums (James Brown’s Blues and Pants album, Kool & the Gang - Wild and Peaceful, Brass Construction first album, Crown Heights Affair, Issac Hayes - Joy, Barry White - I’ve Got So Much Love To Give, Rick James - Come Get It!, Roger Troutman - The Many Facets of Roger, Prince - For You)
He kept naming Soul albums lol
Just nice to see an interview where it’s all about the music and good vibes
Word! This is what it's supposed to be about.
I'm about 20 mins into it now. I love hearing the legends speak on sh*t like this. Pete always has dope interviews.
Exactly!
Interviews like these always have me the going back and listening to the artists’ music if I haven’t been already recently or the artists’ albums they name drop and usually I’ll pick up on things I may have missed even if I’ve listened to it a thousand times already lol
Just heard the part where he said he bumped into Alchemist while diggin' in Japan. I love hearing sh*t like that! LOL!!
But I do the same thing. Listen to an interview and then throw on some joints they did again.
That’s right, he did mention that! Lol
I listened to the interview last night so i forgot he said that
Right? It’s things like that that make me go, “alright this world ain’t such a bad place” lol
Yessir, it gives you a whole new appreciation for the music
No lie, sh*t like that takes me right back to being a kid and being obsessed with Hip Hop.
I just saw a video on IG the other day with Large Professor diggin' in Milwaukee!! The OG's are still obsessed. So there's hope for all of us! HAHA!!
