Is it just me or did this album just feel like it was missing something?

I was listening to it again the other night and the album just sounded bland.

Like it was missing some switch ups in the beats; like it could've used some more vocal scratches in the beats

I really liked the album but the mixing was terrible. Most tracks sounded muffled

Agree with the lack of switches.... thought it was going to be like the beats that played in between joints on old Pete Rock albums but was just okay in the end

I am comfortable and I love you
A lot of the joints sounded like they were sourced from cassette. J-Rocc's scratching didn't accentuate the beats either. He has a ton of unreleased stuff that's much better between his old beat tapes (More Petestrumentals), what he's played on Instagram and his stuff back on Future Flavas.
