You can’t talk about one without the other.

The past generation sold drugs and passed their beefs on to the next generation. They inherit the past traumas. These current rappers are by products of the slang crack, cocaine, and repping the gang that their parents had to endured from living alongside the ones who did it.

We champion rappers were really hustling but we never truly discuss the side effects and he it contributed to continuing destroying the black community. Even Jay recognized and spoke about how he contributed to it.

We champion rappers who really put it in work over a block and color. I’m guilty of it too. But we never talk about how these youngins literally got this shyt from older guys.

You can’t talk about one without getting EVERYONES hands dirty. It’s impossible
Bullshyt. We talked about what we saw out of our project windows. We talked about the good and the bad. That’s what a real gangster rapper does.

Nowadays you guys suck dikk. You don’t talk about the court cases, the mom’s missing their kids killed in drive by’s, the prison time, the different options to take.

All this generation does is glorify violence. Old school rap a covered every base of crime in the streets.

Now it’s all brag brag brag. There is a difference between me telling a child here are the consequences of being in the dope game but also telling them all the millions I made. Your generation only talks about the bragging in first person to drug dealing and killing. Drill and trap glorifies but doesn’t teach you anything.

That’s a god damn lie. Motherfukkers were bragging back then too. They glorified violence too.

Have you even listened to any of the newrappers? They brag and talk about what they seen through their project windows and their pain ALSO.

I don’t understand it. Motherfukkers so blinded and so quick to make it seem like another generation was so better but in reality everyone is wrong. You have people that have been telling you that gangsters rappers made them want to bang and rappers made them want to hustle but somehow that’s not the case.

But You got it bro. Obviously your mind is made it and mind is also cause I know past generations influenced this one and both are at fault. Nothings changing my stance. So be easy

Man, when I'm working out I'm not tryna listen to no fukking pete and cl smooth. Put that drill music on and I get that killer instinct on them weight lol

Every music has its place, there are tons of rappers not with drill, but it's not popular like that and he's just judging what's popular. True old head playing his part, I ain't even mad.

We needed this 10, 15 years ago. The OGs were and are afraid to lose new fans. When Atlanta was on the come up —-not OutKast, TI, Luda—-but that bullshyt D4L and such, the OGs tucked their tail.

Kanye co-signed Chief Keef

J Cole went from clowning trap as he should, then making satirical trap songs, then out of nowhere goes on a 2 year run of features with trash artists…all the way to dumbing himself down to form a dynamic duo with 21 Savage 😆😭 Jay z had Scarface and Beans. Nas had AZ. J Cole has 21 Savage

‘Evil prevails when good men stay silent’ comes to mind

It's easy to be a young person and toss any elder's opinion as just hating on the new generation.
And that's definitely true to a degree.

But I think he's got a point. Just because you might like a certain music type or artist doesn't make it good -- which is what I think defenders tend to say and feel.

I just wonder what type of street rap will take place of drill music in the future.

like can it possibly get any worse than drill? or is this the lowest it will go?

The hate from Pete here is about money. He is not eating as he used to. Back in the 90s, a Pete Rock beat will be 10k-15k on a major release. He will be lucky to get 1000$/beat today. There are so many beatmakers, thus he is not eating. The reality is Pete is not relevant to newer rappers even the Griselda types. That is why he has so much hate. I don't listen to drill because it is for the youngins but don't hate it.
