science is for homosexuals

Which is the better way to determine whether a new drug is effective in treating a disease? If a scientist has a group of 1,000 volunteers with the disease to study, should she...

You answered "Give the drug to all of them and see how many get better"

The correct answer is "Give the drug to half of them but not to the other half, and compare how many in each group get better"

:ehh:

Missed the most abundant gas question, my gut feeling was Nitrogen though...I picked hydrogen cause of all the water and shyt :heh:

I might post this in TLR though cause some of those fukks were on their highhorse about an english/grammatical quiz :pacspit:, us more science oriented folk need to turn the tables.

Got the test s new drug one wrong, because I accidentally hit next question without choosing give it to half and it defaulted to the wrong answer.

Not sure if you need the explanation, but the half of the sample that doesn't receive the drug is called the "control". So if their symptoms improve at the same rate as the group that received the drug, you can't say that any improvement was from the drug.

If you gave it to the whole group, you couldn't tell what improvement was from the drug and what improvement was from any other possible factor.

dissolved oxygen? :yeshrug:? hydrogen seems too obvious :heh:

Answer is:
In the ocean...ocean is made up of water. Two moles of hydrogen for every oxygen in water molecule. Answer is hydrogen. Ive heard people confidently say just water or H2O as an answer :bryan::heh:.

Yeah I get that

If they all take the drugs and they die does that mean the drug works?

Ask me to do calculus though, or derive some shyt :whoa::sadbron::why::mindblown:

I'm a firm believer in everyone is NOT born with the same amount of cognitive ability. Not even on no racial shyt. Some people no matter what they are can never grasp the concepts in calculus, while some people just get it :wow:
