The only reason Peyton is still playing is to chase records, I bet as soon as he beats Favre win record he'll retire. IDK why he's trying so hard, Brady's just gonna beat that record anyways

And this is how the media would spin Brady breaking them:

"As we now have the benefit of hindsight, in his final gracious move as football's ultimate ambassador, Manning played long enough to break the records that Brady finally surpassed yesterday. Many callously trashed Manning then for hanging on too long, but it's now evident that he set those records to give his long time rival, and friend, a few benchmarks to finish his career on. In some ways a retirement "alley oop" to the same man with whom his shared rivalry fueled the NFL for over a decade. Only a talent as transcendant as Peyton Manning could have a hand in authoring the end of an NFL era while sitting on his living room sofa." :smugbiden:

Only difference is this era of "journalists" couldn't approach da god's level of literary eloquence :youngsabo:

Brock has had 4 years to prepare to be an NFL QB and 3 of those years have been behind Peyton. Manning cant hold his hand and lead him through the fire. Plus no matter what you know Peyton's pride is hurt with him being benched for the first time in his career. No way that this is the way he or the Broncos imagined him going out after they lost the Super Bowl to the Seahawks. It would be nice of him to lend support to Osweiler but honestly if he isn't ready right now then he never will be.

and they'll suddenly be able to miraculously run the ball better as well too huh?

:ohhh:

It might. Some dude on Mile High Report was looking at the game tape and said it looked like Hillman and Anderson were delaying their burst off the line because Manning wasn't able to turn for the handoff in time. Makes sense.

Anyway, the proof is in the pudding, we'll see Sunday
