His ego won't allow it.

Yesterday was a game BEGGING them to run the ball. He was throwing ducks, Demarious Thomas was dropping balls, CJ was averaging over 5 yards a carry in the first half against a team that even armchair scouts knew couldn't stop the run...so what do they do in the second half in a 14-10 game? They open up with two straight 3 and outs, with two passes and one rush on each. CJ only gets 5 carries in the second half.

Peyton ain't built for 'managing' a game. The sun don't shine if son don't shine :yeshrug:
:salute:Quiet as kept, this has always been his biggest problem. The man's ego has never allowed him to take a backseat to his running game. Look at what the Pats did to this same Colts squad with some practice squad running back in that Gray kid. They didn't come out there trying to get cute. They lined up and ran the ball 40+ times because they knew that was the most effective way to secure a W.

so true. And :dead: at the end

His ego would rather go down with a historically poor performance than taking the back seat and letting Anderson win the game.

And he looked like shyt and got hurt the next season and promptly retired and he wasn't coming off career threatening neck injuries with a weakened arm. Peyton had arguably his best season last year and has looked shaky this year. So if we are following the Favre blueprint he isn't gonna be better next year and should hang it up.

All I was implying with my comments was that a QB that's 40 isn't necessarily damaged goods. Nothing more, nothing less.

I do believe that Peyton needs to hang it up though.

I didn't quote you though...unless that is your alias :ohhh:. Peyton's been damaged goods and if you are counting on a 40 year old QB not being damaged goods, even though they already are, you will most likely be screwed.

Did Peyton play poorly..yeah...

But that super expensive defense didn't get any pass rush...

Actually allowed Indy to run the ball effectively...which is hilarious when you think about them having all of 1 yard rushing against the cowboys...

Receivers...once again...got locked up underneath...

Jon Fox has been one of the worst coaches in football since his superbowl run with Carolina...

Peyton coming back depends on the Thomas's...they come back he will be back...they both leave (and they both are going to get monster offers) then he is going to hang it up because without them that offense will go through a rebuild...

Also somebody needs to just make Wes Welker retire...this dude been punch drunk since his last concussion and if he play another year he going to be dead within 5
The receivers were open downfield. Colts just took away everything underneath and dared Manning to throw deep and it looked like he was hurling 10 lb. dumbells in garbage bags. It was an epic exposure of a player's limitations.

He ran the ball in 06...ironically the only year he won the SB.

Lol, naw I made a similar comment in another thread about Peyton. Got confused.

But I agree with you overall.
