trade away a younger two way small forward player on rookie pay scale for an older more expensive less developed shorter PG with no outside range and a slow first step brehs

The majority of NBA Championship squads have had a serviceable facilitator at the 1.

The 1 doesn't have to be on Magic's level. But, certainly someone who can set the tone.

The Heat and Bulls are the main deviations from the norm in terms of serviceable 1s. That's because they were so strong on the perimeter. Pacers are nowhere near as strong as the Bulls and Heat on the perimeter.
you forgetting the Lakers? All im saying is that you dont need a traditional point guard to win a championship. Pacers just aren't even close to being as good on the perimeter as Miami. That and Rebounding are their main issues.

Fish was a serviceable PG in his younger days, breh.

Don't let the old geezer coming off the bench for OKC fool you.

dont change the argument to serviceable. You said "real" point guard who can facilitate. Fish has always been a combo guard. The main ball-handling duties were left to Kobe in the triangle.
In fact George hill is more than serviceable, he's scoring 12ppg on 45%2p and near 38% from 3. You can't ask him to be more than that since thats not suppose to be his job.

Instead of trading for Turner, they should have traded for Andre Miller.

Imagine Miller posting up Chalmers or Cole on the block and finding the open cutters. IND would have been able to get him minutes well before the playoffs.

Even though he's 38, he would be a much bigger upgrade to their offense and got guys much better shots.

Hindsight is 20/20, there are a lot of different moves we couldve made. Tons of pg's id rather have than george hill but we gave him that contract for 5yrs 40 million and we will most likely be stuck with him for the length of that contract.

naw, their biggest issue is mentally....they had the same pgs when shyt was going well that they do now when shyt aint...for whatever reason(s), this team has just suffered a mental breakdown, and have been on borrowed time for a min now...only reason they made it this far is cause of lack of talent (hawks) and experience (wiz)....the nets, bulls, or bobcats would've beat them in the earlier rounds...

I agree, I thought if they would have traded Danny Granger for a soild point guard they would be in a better position. They have a lot of talent but no glue to bring them all together and that's what a point guard does. Instead both of the PGs on their team or scorers and not facilitators

I disagree there really are 3 point guards in the starting lineup when you look at Paul George and Lance Stephenson. They both can create and facilitate the offense with the ball in their hands. Pacers main problem is and always will be turnovers. Which is why the Spurs have the best chance against Miami because they play relatively mistake free basketball most of the time. When Miami decides to dig in the Pacers just fold like a bad hand in poker. shyt is actually disgusting to watch because it seems like these dudes don't want it enough.
