Just beat this game for the first time the other night, and it was classic fire brehs :wow:

Chaz and Rune's arguments :russ:

The sidequests at the hunter's guild :gladbron:
(Except for the mission where you have to find the lost dog :pacspit:)

murking Zio :demonic:

Wren :birdman:

space travel between two planets :krs:

The elsydeon :blessed:

Combination attacks :whoo:

The Air Castle dungeon :myman:

The references to the first two games (including the bosses) :ohhh:

This game was legit. You had a fire storyline, two planets to explore, piff special attacks, huge bosses, plot twists, manga-styled cutscenes, sidequests, optional dungeons, depressing character deaths, continuity references with the earlier games, and nearly everything else you could ask for.

Game is a stone-cold classic :salute:

Alys' death >>>>>>>>>>> Aeris in terms of :to: factor. What sucked the most is how you go through a whole dungeon in the hopes of being able to cure her, but nope :yeshrug:

At the same time, you kinda see it coming...
She starts doing less and less damage as you get farther in the game :flabbynsick:
There were no weapons available to buy for her in the town right before she falls ill :patrice:

Low key, who else chose Yes when Re-Faze asked if you wanted to learn the secret technique and wound up getting washed

EDIT: and Raja's jokes :lolbron:

You DID bring him to the final boss fight didn't you?

Classic game. Who'd you pick for the final dungeon though? I always picked Hahn because he got a little of everything, spells, techs, melee. Them techs and combo techs :ohlawd:. Rune and Wren>>>. Ps4 is probably the most slept on rpg of the cartridge era.

Neck ties and boxing gloves.
Classic game and maybe my favorite for the Genesis.

Its been a long time, but I'm pretty sure I always brought Raja to the final boss.

The anime panels had me sold.

I brought Raja. His Blessing Tech and all of those heal spells :blessed:
Hahn stayed going hard with the combos. Gonna have to try him next time.

I heard beating the game with Gryz as your fifth is  though

When this first dropped it priced at damb near 100$. No joke

Yeah the game is certified crack, one of the goat rpgs that the nobody has played outside Japan. PS2 is a classic if you can look past the "grid". And if you like Dragon Warrior you should try the first PS, that one is also a personal classic

My only memory of PS2 is playing it on an emulator and its insane difficulty.

You walked outside in the beginning and you got got quick.

And I've beaten a lot of old school JRPGs.
