At the moment there's a few people I'd put above Monch, K-Rino, Z-Ro, Brother Ali, KRS-One, Nas etc. He's better than most of the mainstream by far though. And on a greatest list above a lot of people, he was great in Organized Konfusion and I enjoyed quite a few of his solos too.

He released his first solo project in 1999 and didn't drop a sophmore effort until almost 8 years later in 2007. Took another 4 years to drop War. Then another 3 to drop PTSD. Dude has been going through issues, but you can't proclaim him to be better than people who are consistently putting out projects. I could make a thread saying the same thing about Jay Electronica anytime he drops a song, but dude isn't active enough to be put in the debate.
Jay Elect isn't anywhere near Monch and you could make this debate for someone if they just dropped a full album. Monch didn't drop a song he dropped the album of the year so far.
