I wish he'd do a straight hip hop album - all his recent work has been themed on war, paranoia, police, chemicals etc.. I just want another Internal Affairs-type album

It'll come eventually!!

He was in a dark place when he made this album so it makes sense that he made conceptual album of this effect.

Have listened to this three times so far. :lawd: I agree now, it's on that Internal Affairs level.

The only thing is that I don't see myself playing that Grand Illusion remix much. It was a nice surprise to hear it on this album, but I like the original one better.

Why was he in a dark place? I haven't watched any interviews with him leading up to this album dropping

Wasnt one classic track on this album. Not one song i hit rewind on to listen to again. Just a real average album that starts off slow. The sound quality is good but the beats dont really resonate to anything thats classic.

The rhymes were ok but Monchs flow is kind of corny at times. 6 out of 10.

Haven't heard this yet but Monch has sort of settled for C to B level production post Internal Affairs. I mean, I like Khrysis, Mr. Porter & Marco & Lee Stone as much as the next guy but Monch albums should command the DJ Premier's, Pete Rock's & Showbiz's of the rap game.
