Interestingly enough Teddy was the one who got Pharrell in the game as he saw talent in him during HS. He then went on to help with the song Rumpshaker.

Timbaland was a direct understudy of Devante Swing who was tremendously influenced by Teddy Riley, Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis, Prince, etc...

Without Teddy, there is no Devante, Timmy, Pharrell, etc.

My vote is for Teddy..he has greater versatility....
