Dmx's music is close but not his social commentary in real life how PAC was
No, he's nothing like Pac. Why can't TI just be TI? That's a great career and legacy in its own right. Besides, if we're talking southern rappers Boosie and Soulja Slim would be the first choices of rappers similar to Pac not fukkin T.I.
Chris Brown could be bigger than Tupac? That's the most outlandish shyt on there
Pac has Greek Mythology/Homer's Odyssey type tall tales. The nikka's inches away from having a Zodiac sign named after him....It's Michael Jackson, Elvis, Bob Marley, and Pac right now.
Chris Brown doesn't transcend the music like that. That profound level of connectivity just isn't there with dude.
He's in the same bracket as Usher/Bobby Brown----and honestly, I doubt he'll ever be as good as either one of them at the top of their game.
Maybe somewhere between Genuine & Justin Timberlake---He's too bubblegum to be mentioned in the same category as Usher & Bobby Brown.
It's his opinion. More outlandish comparisons than "T.I. is the new 2Pac" are made here daily. I don't necessarily agree with his statement, but kind of understand the comparison. It would hold more validity if Pharrell had actually worked with Pac. Being that he's worked with T.I. from day one, he's seen T.I.'s approach to writing songs and maybe it reminds him of what he's heard about Pac and what he hears in Pac's music.
pac has tall tales because hes deceased. im talking about 2pac at his peak in '96.
you do know that prime bobby brown was bigger than prime 2pac, right?
as far as chris goes, he is usher on steroids. he basically fits usher's template but with twice as much talent. with the right people behind him, he couldve easily been bigger than usher. now as for the 2pac & bobby brown comparisons, we would have to wait & see, but he would definitely be in the discussion.
I can't get aligned with that one. It's not really about what it was, but what it is---Pac's destiny was to become one of the biggest icons in the history of the entertainment biz.And for a lot of people, the connection to Pac went beyond just the entertainment level.Like I said in my previous post, he's the closest thing hip hop has to reaching that Michael Jackson/ Bob Marley level. His genius was that he deliberately constructed his legend around death. It wasn't accidental. The man actually premeditated/designed it that way.His ability to envision was far reaching like that....That's some major game IMO.He made it so that he would be larger in death than he was in life. It's hard for me to look back on it with any seriousness when Bobby's star failed to reach the heavens.Pac's such a major icon now, any reference to a "prime" seems irrelevant.Especially looking back in retrospect, damn near 20 years later. It's not really about who's the biggest at any given point in time, but who leaves a lasting effect on the masses.
I just don't see that quality in Chris Brown. He's a good artist.Music be jamming
But he's not a once in a lifetime, transcending talent IMO.
I doubt he'll ever even reach the level of '04 Let It Burn Usher
