Degress doesn’t necessarily mean you’re intelligent. Just means you’re willing to stick through something for a long period of time.

Granted, you will be more intelligent than the average person in YOUR field, but thats about it.

IQ is based on how you think and/or understand and deals with a multiple of different things. There are some intelligent people who bullshytted their way through school just because of a lack of interest (or laziness). Doesn’t mean they can't pick things up or understand them.

If she was doing all that and accomplishing all that in like HS like some prodigy, then I would say she probably has a significantly higher than average IQ

A PhD requires you to write your own dissertation based on original research and then defend that against the criticism of other scientists.

The dedication and intellect required to undertake and complete a PhD in STEM is a lot. She is very intelligent as she had to figure out what to research, setup a lab to run experiments based on all the knowledge she acquired throughout undergrad and grad school, and present her findings/results in a paper that had to be defended against seasoned scientists.

Only on thecoli will I see folk trying to downplay that sort of degree while struggling to earn a certificate which is based on nothing but rote memorization. Talking about "book smart" =/= intelligent in reference to someone that has a damn PhD in STEM.

I always said everyone is a genius in something, it depends on your level of interest and understanding on the subjects.

But general IQ doesn’t have anything to do with your obsession over one thing. Depends on your interests and understanding of a lot of different things and how you think. Military folks usually have a lot of abnormal things they have to know depending on their job. Doesn’t mean theyre any smarter either, but doesn’t mean all are stupid

She seems like she was interested in the accolades. She said probably really knowledgeable in her subject/field compared to people not in it but that could be where it ends.
