Phil finally clarifies the future of Zenimax and Bethesda games

We don’t need to sell the games on PlayStation/Nintendo in order for the deal to be profitable.

And even if he, and every single person working in the XBox division knew that these games were coming to non MS platforms, why would he give that information out now, in an interview that runs 25 days before the launch of their brand new consoles? It really does him/them absolutely no benefit to do anything other than this let's see song and dance until closer to when these games come out, whenever that may be.

When Sony bought insomniac did you think Spiderman was multiplat?

I think y'all need to logout for a while, seriously. Y'all to deep in the matrix. Never had a company been bought and the public thinks they still multiplat. If that happens they make that claim immediately like how Microsoft made clear Minecraft would remain. Unless that happens on day 1 it's not happening.

You can laugh, but it's basic business sense. They seem open to any way to recoup and actually make money off of this acquisition. Right now, the most important thing is driving purchases of their new console. Playing coy about games that probably aren't coming out until 2022 at the earliest is the smart move.

Doesn't help that Phil is kind've painting them in a corner by saying he doesn't want to take games from people, extolling the virtues of being able to play what you want where you want to look like the consumer friendly guy, and then possibly slapping an asterisk on it. They've done one hell of a job building goodwill over the last couple of years, but they need to be aware (if they're not already, which is assume they are) that you're most vulnerable to a hit to how you're perceived in times like these when you're rebuilding your rep.

I'm not going to go back and forth with u and Meach. Phil Spencer answered the question of will it be profitable to only sell Zenimax's games on Xbox and PC. Phil's answer was yes. He said I don't have to sell on other platforms to make money. He didn't say that he will not sell on other platforms, simply that he doesn't have to.

Microsoft is about $$$ first and foremost. I have no doubt in my mind they would let Bethesda games be on Sony consoles as long as Sony paid a hefty premium for them(especially since Microsoft wants to focus more on software than hardware anyway), which knowing how Sony operates they won't pay them a dime so the games probably won't come to PS platforms.

His comments are clear. Unless you are in denial.

The games do not have to be shipped on PlayStation in order for them to meet their goals of profitability and reaching gamers where they are.
