If anything, Doc Rivers is overrated

You're really on a roll with these shyt threads the last few weeks aren't you?
cut it out..the difference is Phil got these guys when they were in their primes physically and more IMPORTANTLY mentally...players have to learn how to when....guys just don't get drafted into the league as superstars winning rings, unless you Magic Johnson, but that's the exception, not the norm. and once the same players started to age, Phil wasn't capable and rebuilding or better yet, sustaining a championship caliber team and keep them competitive like Coach Popp can/doesWhy was Shaq getting swept left and right before Phil?
Shaqs defense pre Phil was, constantly getting his poor floor coverage and terrible pickandroll defense exposed in the playoffs. Getting LIT on defense and swept by Hakeem and Houstons shooters, Stockton/Malone exposing that pickandroll D constantly and badly in playoffs, Bulls waxing that ass on switches and coverages
. His teams in the playoffs outside of the dominant 01 run were never good on defense, struggled with playoff D and he was a huge part of it. He was heavily criticized for his defense before that but he was legit one of the best defenders in the game during the threepeat and he never came close to that level defensively without Phil
Doug Collins adjustments in the playoffs with Michael compared to Phil were night and day. MJ already knew how to ball with Dean Smith who taught him more than Phil did, unlike Kobe who Phil is his main teacher but Phil really helped refine his game within context of a 5 on 5 game
Now players on the level of MJ, Shaq and Kobe are worth more than GOAT coaches by far. But u cant underrate the impact and intangibles of a coach. Especially being able to manage egos. Look at how badly Pop failed with Rodman compared to Phil and why Pop only goes for high character guys
they took a Suns team to 7 that was a top 3 team in the league while he had Kobe, Odom and a bunch of scrubsThey won 55 games without MJ in 94 and were maybe a bad call away from being in the ECF, still took Finals Knicks team to 7 which is what it took the champion Rockets to do. And keep in mind Chicago aint have homecourt like Houston..............Bulls actually played better defensively without Michael compared to the season MJ was with em before he retired
Now i believe Tex Winter deserves most the credit for the xs and os. But basketball is alot more than just hard stats and xs and os...........This aint moneyball or a cac nerds wet dream. Phil had a stretch where his teams went 44-3 in playoff series
I dont care if u got the GOAT that type of dominance and consistency Phil maintained deserves credit

Don't think Pop coached Rodman anyway. Bob Hill did.Why was Shaq getting swept left and right before Phil?

So how about the Lakers? Kobe thought the triangle was stupid and that's when they won their first ring also?OP trolling but I remember reading in Jordan Rules how Jackson would purposely bench Jordan right when he was getting going
he believed that preventing MJ from winning the scoring title would humble him and improve team chemistry
this was before they won a ring, and needless to say they didn't win it that year
eventually Jordan completely ignored Jackson's plays, ignored the Triangle Offense (MJ said it was fukkin stupid and Tex Winter is an idiot) and completely took over the offense
thats when they ended up winning their first ring

I never said that.So how about the Lakers? Kobe thought the triangle was stupid and that's when they won their first ring also?
