Think about this:

- Won a championship in over 50% of the years he was coaching in the NBA
- 11 NBA championships/13 Finals appearances
- Won consecutive championships 4 separate times
- Teams 3 peated 3 separate times
- 2001 Lakers had best record of any playoff team ever (15-1)
- 69% playoff winning percentage
- After winning Game 1 of ANY series, teams went 48-0 (Bulls: 24-0/Lakers: 24-0)
- From 1996-2003, teams won 25 consecutive playoff series
- 70% regular season winning percentage
- 229 playoff wins
- 1,155 regular season wins
- Teams with 72-10, 69-13, 67-15(2x), 65-17 records

The GOAT.

It is unfair to compare him to other coaches

Nobody else got the chance to coach in the NBA and have arguably (and usually indisputably) the BEST player in the league on his team EVERY SINGLE YEAR

Goatganda the pearl of Africa
He'll never be able to shake the stigma of having MJ, Shaq, Kobie, and Scottie for all those rings, but just like he hasn't won without them, they haven't won without him either (with the exception of Shaq).

and shaq won with pat riley and d wade not exactly chump change

lets not forget phil jackson has never missed the playoffs as well

Other coaches had similar opportunities with those great players and couldn't capitalize.

Besides that, it doesn't explain things that 48-0 first game stat(mostly coaching and is reported to be a billion to one odds of it happening) and his ability to get those obviously insane personalities to work together.

Did I mention the use of an innovative offense to put his superstars in a position to succeed and also limit them to a team concept? :ohhh:

And now he's about to ruin his legacy by associating himself with that shytty franchise :scusthov:
He's always been a Knick.

:rudy:

Those other coaches didn't have those players in their primes. Pippen wasn't an all-star caliber player in his first 2 season and Kobe was only 20 when Phil signed with the Lakers.
I think Phil could've won a championship with one of those '94 and '95 Magic teams. That's just me though.
