We're fortunate that America has had a relatively stringent separation of church and state (not perfect by any means), secularism, a strong Federal government and wealth/education.

Otherwise we would have Christian Taliban here stoning people in the streets in certain states, make no mistake about it. They hate Islamic fundamentalism only because of theological differences. I'm sure there are a few of them who hate Islamic fundamentalism out of jealousy that they can't live like they do: under religious law.

These are warped people who need psychiatric help. I'm just glad that we also have very progressive Christians in America that vocally oppose this nonsense.

What's the difference between a Christian from the south circa 1864 and the Taliban?
