nikkas keep perpetuating myths. he didn't make varsity as a FRESHMAN. he was not cut. and lets not like everyone makes varisty as a freshman. Jordan just perpetuates that myth cause he likes to create challenges in his mind when they ain't really there. look no further than his HOF speech where he shytted on nikkas from high school, college, and the pros eventhough everyone was there to proclaim him gawd. :scusthov:
He didn't make varsity as a sophomore. He got put on jv.

impressive how exactly?

it was a meaningless regular season game against a scrub team.

i don't even think kobe would rank that as one of this best games.

how bout the 62 in 3 against the western conference champion Dallas Mavericks?

he only had 55 thru 3 in his 81 point game. he prolly coulda scored 90 that night.

i don't think truly great players define their best games by how many points they scored in them... especially if it was just a regular season game with little to nothing at stake.

From 2 years ago...:heh:
Funny how Kobe never "blacks out" when the stakes are the highest (only ONE 40pt game in the finals in 38 games). In fact, his efficiency typically decreases in the playoffs!

Jordan in the playoffs: 34.3 ppg, 48.1 fg %, 6.4 Rebounds, 5.7 assist

Kobe in the playoffs: 25.6 ppg, 44.8 fg %, 5.1 rebounds, 4.7 assist

Also, Jordan played in 179 playoff games and has more steals (376 to be exact) than Kobe who played in 220 playoff games (40 more games), yet only has 310 steals. Jordan also has more 50 point games in the playoffs than Kobe, despite playing 40 LESS games.

:beli:

NBA All-time 50-Point Playoff games. Count how many times Jordan's name appears, then count how many time you see Kobe's name

IN CONCLUSION: Jordan was the better offensive player than Kobe, not only in the regular season, but in the playoffs where it's tougher to score. And Jordan, was a better player on the defensive end, in the regular season and playoffs, compared to Kobe. Kobe had a couple of better offensive outputs in a few regular season games...that's all. OVERALL THE NUMBERS DON'T EVEN fukkING COMPARE!!!!!
# of Regular seasons Kobe averaged over 30 ppg:

2

# of Regular seasons Jordan averaged over 30 ppg:

7 (and came within 4/10th of a point of 8 scoring seasons over 30 ppg - 29.6)

and he took off a couple seasons for good measure.

:ooh:
50pt games in playoffs:

Michael Jordan -- 8
Wilt Chamberlain -- 4 (compared to 118 in regular season!)
Allen Iverson -- 3
Jerry West -- 2
