What I don't understand.......

Most of y'all are in here concern trolling over PC releases of games you spent years saying weren't good.

So, if you don't care about these games, what does it matter to you if they get released on PC, or what price point it gets released at? You're still not going to play it, so it's of no consequence to you, right?

The narrative went from

Sony will never put there 1st party games on PC

Xbox is dumb for putting games on PC I'll never get one now

Then day and date with gamepass dropped and people doubled down on that.

To

Sony 1st party console exclusives you HAVE to buy a PlayStation for if you ever wanted to to play. People who play on PC don't care or already have a PS anyway.

*Sony announces a bunch of former console exclusives*

They released Horizon with no drm and still sold over 700k in the first month
Playing through it at 60fps+ was worth the wait
So why wouldn’t they release more on pc

-Microsoft™
If you buy a Microsoft game day 1 on Steam then Steam is getting a cut of that purchase and DLC. That by far is the most popular PC storefront out there.

2 of the best things Phil Spencer did was finally stop blocking cross platform multi-player and making all their games available day one on PC including on Steam. They fundamentally understand that PC gamers who don't already own your console aren't interested in buying your console. They are still interested in buying your software and you should treat them like valuable customers and not some second tier customer garbage.

This isn’t true and we are going to see a huge decrease in xbox ownership this generation. Half the people in the starfield thread (probably more) are playing it on PC, which wouldn’t be if it were xbox only.

Sony care about selling hardware, microsoft care about their larger pc/cloud/gaming business, its not 1:1. There is no huge money to be made from sony relying on just selling software

They could easily just not port games at all liek Nintendo and go back to solely focusing on their console

Best thing Microsoft ever done. Sony just realizing how valuable this is but afraid to go full force because they think nobody will buy their system.
