Phil Spencer on why Xbox doesn't have games to rival Horizon and Zelda right now

Its easy to get mad at Phil but the more I think about it, I understand why he feels that way. I don't necessarily agree but I understand.

Xbox players are US multiplayer centric players while Playstation players have a lot more global singleplayer gamers. I mean Phil can do more to cultivate an audience for those types of games but he doesn't want to gamble and take that risk.

This is how I look at it, and I'm finding more and more that I don't really care for SP games even though I play them in a solo casual manner. I've spent more time in Destiny, the division, even ESO than I ever have in a single player game. I play those games solo until I need to group. As long as Phil can provide those types of games, which the industry is going towards anyway, I'm good.

It does make it difficult knowing that the competition can put out a Zelda or Horizon...but honestly any game SP or multiplayer will fill the void.

Problem is that the same muliplayer centric games are also available on the competition's product with more variety of exclusives. So what do you do?

switch has been out just less than 2 months and already surpassed xbox for essential exclusive games.... numbers dont lie !

the 360 was a lot brehs first console. Them cats grew up off COD, Madden, GTA, Gears, & Halo. They used to blockbusters. So when they bought the X1 they ain't buy it for Sunset or Recore type games.

360 checked every box, and Xbox Live was revolutionary. It even had exclusive JRPG's. Hacked scene, it was legendary compared to the PS3. X1 came and you already know the story. Phil in the past admitted that PS4 > OG Xbox One, so how did the Stan wars continue after that? You give props to honesty but Phil is too honest.

Xbox BC is great for gamers everywhere, and Scorpio for now is the most powerful gaming console. People just want different games other than HFG, period. Even the media praising Scorpio specs, had to pump the breaks and mention Exclusives or Bust. E3 is next month.

U right but most those 360 gamers grew up off Nintendo & Sony. So when a bulk of the hardcore gamers left Xbox for PS4 this gen or just passed. It hurt games like Sunset, Ori, and Scalebound imo. Both consoles have super high casual numbers, but PlayStation just have more of a lineage and history.

Sony isn't and thats part of the reason why PS4 has ended this console generation so early

Put Uncharted in Microsofts hands it wouldn't have gotten past the first game. The first game did trash first week sales and I know for a fact MS would have told Naughty Dog to
Sony gave em another chance and well the rest is history..

Thats why I cant understand these kids in here really gassed up because Scorpio has good specs.. where are the games at though? Yall really think Sony/Nintendo are worried about MS who have made it clear that they're really only catering to FPS/Sports gamers?

This generation is simply a continuation of last gen.. Sony started off slow with PS3 but once the great exclusives came along with multiplats, it did major catch up game with Xbox sales. Consumers realise 'why buy this console for one game when I can buy another console with the same game + others'.

And with Scorpio vs PS4 Pro unless Phil changes his mind and gives other type of games chances it will be the same thing. It will start off with a buzz like a kid high on 8 tablespoons of sugar.. but after 30 minutes or so once the reality kicks in (aka limited variety of games ) the sales are gonna go down real quick. Matter fact you've seen it already in the media they spent a short time going crazy over the specs but now that the specs have kicked in everyones like 'where are the games at?'
