First the whole "down low" phenomenon is a myth and unnecessarily vilifies gay people. In 2016 people should know by now that AIDS is not a "gay" disease.

You need to talk to some women at the clinic. I did an internship back in undergrad, there are some women who caught that shyt from their downlow boyfriend who was fukkin nikkas under their nose. They had no idea their boyfriends were into fukkin dudes, so it isn't a myth at all.

In 2016 people should know by now that AIDS is not a "gay" disease.

By in large it is, when it came onto the scene is was killing gays in mass numbers in places like San Francisco...and if you're a man in a 1st world country, unless you do intravenous drugs then the only way you getting it is by fukkin a dude that has it.
