With LeSean McCoy gone I guarantee whoever is the starting running back next year for Philly they are not going to as productive or contributing.

With the same line their stats are not going to be no where near Mcoys

Good RB's do make a difference. And hopefully after next year everyone can hop off he RB's are a dime a dozen bangwagon

Low key though Seattle has proved that outside of like 3 guys, WRs are extremely interchangable. Maybe more so than RBs because of the rules placed on down field contact.

what if Philly drafts a Gordon, Ameer, Gurley, etc?

what if they have a running back by committee, and it produces similar production?

Edit: Whoops. They were 9th of 32. Top 10 rushing game but I think they'll do fine without McCoy. They still have Sproles and I'm sure they'll draft a young bul to split the carries

your logic is kinda bad. to 'prove' the RBs are still valuable, philly needs to do worse on offense, with a RB who isnt as productive as mccoy

saying his replacement is going to be a RB who is not as productive is a 'no shyt' statement. its hard to find a more productive RB than a top 5 productive RB.

chip isnt about running the ball anyway

That's what i'm saying, they will do significantly worse in rushing offense, thats pretty much half total offense. Unless they have an elite quarterback ( which they don't) his absence will be felt.

nah it has to be overall offense. its obvious theyre taking focus off rushing offense.

Im not arguing your point that RBs are still very valuable, I think so as well
Im just saying that logically it'll only work if philly regresses in total offense.

otherwise, doesnt make sense. it'd actually prove that RBs arent worth shyt if they plug in random bum at RB and their offense still is top 5.

theres a difference between "not being valuable" and "not being 8 figures valuable", which people are seemingly failing to grasp
That theory you keep repeating isn't absolute :smugfavre: either.. Many variables are at play, including your own teams salary situation, and what's needed and what it will cost. To simply say a top 3 rb isn't worth 8 figures is bullshyt. It's relative to the team... You tell me how valuable beast mode is for example.

coming off last season, its pretty hard to call lesean mccoy a top 3 running back anymore, and hes nowhere near the realm of lynch. marshawn lynch excelled the last few years despite having one of the worst lines in the league. lesean mccoy's line finally stopped being a top tier line, and he became an average ass back that lost a full yard per carry in one offseason. good luck paying guys like him 10 mil in the future. im still waiting for you to point out all those dominant games he had last season, where you said he was "dominant in at least half the games"

He had 1300 yards 5 TDs and 4 fumbles on 4.2 yards per carry. While I'll admit that the Oline's health did play into those numbers, they're still not 10 mil + worthy no matter how you slice it. You can replicate that production at a fraction of the cost.

Another thing no one seems to mention is that Chip never had a RB take more than 50 % of the snaps at oregon and Shady was getting more than 60%. The Eagles are gonna roll with a committee approach.

He had 88 yards or higher in half the games breh, for an NFL rusher that's what you want... We gonna ignore the instability at Qb, the running a read option run game without a qb that can run or nah? Was he the mvp type a LA 2 years ago, maybe not, was he flat top worthy, cmon shun
