Philly
makes no sense.

reason rappers get taxed in NYC, L.A. Miami, etc is because those are the entertainment capitals of the country .rappers need to go to those cities to conduct business.

Philly is a piece of shyt city, a rapper can make millions, tour, interviews etc without ever stepping foot in Philly.

Every 80s & 90s artist, especially from NY, had to break in Philly first. Philly was the first market for most of those people. C/O '88 all were put on by LG. Philly broke their records first, and this continued through late 90s. They have all said that. KRS said in interviews that he had to go down to Philly then make his way back to NY. Every other rapper says that Philly was their main market. But in NY, that's probably because of the segregation of boroughs.

but Tone Trump is a blood :russ:. Might be the only blood in philly.

He not from Philly. He's from Norristown or some ish. He doesn't count

L.A had a 160 murders last year in a city of 4 million :mjlol:L.A shouldn't even be the conversation when it comes to gang shyt anymore.

295 and the bulk of the murders happen in South La.We have gang enhancements and injunctions which has driven down the numbers.

Of course he didnt wanna play the record it was the JUICE CREW DISS song dissing Mr Magic ..Shan .Marley & Fly Ty.......
:umad:

But you leaving out the part about what happened following the release of that record when the Juice Crew with Magic TRIED to come to do a show at the old Philly SPECTRUM as the headliners

THE SHOW GOT SHUT DOWN CAUSE THE JUICE CREW.WERE TO SCARED TO LEAVE THIER HOTEL.ROOM. cause LG had the Hilltop Hustlas and about 50 akhis in that lobby ready to perform a jihad on Mr Magic and co. Because .Mr Magic and Fly Ty owed LG bread when they left LG label and formed thier Cold Chillin label backed by Lance via Warner Bros

Lawrence didnt like those subs they were throwing ..like when Shan stated on record..."Yeah dummy we getting Bugs Bunny money (warner)!

So Lance made them and Warner pay up some bugs Bunny Money
:sas1:

Mr. Magic still didn't let them extort him!:troll:

And Cold Chillin' had formed years after Roxanne shante was on Pop-art. I did research and she released "roxann'es revenge" in '85. Cold Chillin was formed in '87. They made the deal with WB a year later. I don't know if its true about Fly ty paying LG 2-3 years later. Let me see some proof, I would love to hear both sides.

If I owe you bread, I owe you bread, but you can't make me do anything I don't want to. Mr. Magic will always be the man to me because he didn't allow that shyt. Just because he didn't leave his hotel room doesn't make him a sucker, it makes him SMART! I had the same thing happened to me, but I thought I was superman, and got my ass whooped. Got my respect afterwards though, nikkas thought I was crazy cause I never stayed down!:gucci:

All these guys yall admire, I saw them as guys who punked weak people who were scared of some pain. I still respect LG for doing his thing, I just don't admire him, but I don't admire anyone unless I know they are physically tough or extremely smart. It's the main reason I don't think shyt about drug dealers like everyone else does, unless they showed they can get busy with the hands, guns, and especially knife because you gotta be upclose to do that.

I been through shyt, so all the stuff these guys talk don't mean shyt to me. i've had people try that shyt to me, and once they seen I was with the shyts, that nonsense ceased!

:why:

LG wasn't smart???!?!...the man created numerous lucrative business ventures coming out the street....

that's why so many in NYC fukked with him...even fly ty ...his business acumen was on point!!....it's not about aggression here..it's about mental precision

and you up here being a hypocrite..you denounced LG...but yet u praised Lance Fertado the notoroious coke dealer from queens whom DEFINITLY WAS EXTORTING BOTH MAGIC AND TY... :umad:

and unlike YOU I DON'T have to wikpedia like research on the situation..im a 42 year old cat who became a fan of hip hop and ADMIRED THE BUSINESS ASPECT OF MUSIC observing my dad in new york who was good friends with the legendary FRANKIE CROCKER who gave MR. MAGIC and MARLEY MARL thier job at WBLS radio so i came in contact with alot of these personalites...such as LG whom i been able to meet twice ....once outside the Apollo in harlem with my pops...and the second time running with my mentor the god Tahmel from Philly when he was working the boards at Power 99 fm WDAS for a brief minute

nuff love to magic he is another one of my idols i admired......

but at the end the day MR. MAGIC died a coke addict..that was the end of his story

while LG gets bask alive and prosperous in his own glory :manny:

To this day people reflect on the general good qualities that LG had as a BUSINESSMAN....

there were three labels involved who would each give a deal to the artists in first, second and third place. I remember Pop Art was the third place label, Tommy Boy was second place and Sugarhill Records was first place. I always tell people that if we’d been smart we’d have gone with Lawrence Goodman and Pop Art as that could have led us to Next Plateau with the link he had with Salt-N-Pepa and all the success they had. But that’s a whole other story, right. - Daddy O of STETSASONIC from Brooklyn

Man, you are sensitive!

We are on the internet so its no point talking tough to you, but all you do is bring up names, and talk about who you met like I give a fukk. nikka I lived hip hop shyt, been around this street shyt, and the reason i researched is to back up what I'm saying. You talking like you know more about this hip hop shyt just because you are older. Well, I'm around your age, and was young in the middle of the shyt. I remember being uptown watching the hustlers go by in the foreigns, and Jeeps. I didn't see it on tv, I was THERE! I was around the stick up kids in Brooklyn. Yall nikkas was scared to come from where I roamed, and I went to other areas of NYC when it was dangerous AS A PRETEEN, AND AS A TEENAGER. Out at all times of the night when I hit my teens. Seen people shot in the head, dead bodies, robberies, and did dumb shyt, so kill all that noise. Let these young nikkas big you up, I just like the knowledge you give that I didn't read in don divas or feds, but don't start thinking because you read it, you are really about the shyt. If I give you respect, you give me respect!

I never said LG wasn't smart, and I never praised Lance, you need to read my man.

I wrote this: "I still respect LG for doing his thing, I just don't admire him, but I don't admire anyone unless I know they are physically tough or extremely smart."

Unless LG could explain theories of the universe, explain how the body works, or things like that, he isn't extremely smart to me. If you have money, you can run a business just by having the right people around you, or being observant. Average people do it all the time. Learn the difference. Don't be one of these fools who call business people geniuses just because they made money. If they were so smart, why can't they keep doing it?

Also, Disrespecting Mr. Magic talking bout he died a cokehead is foul. The nikka wasn't assed out in the streets getting high, so why make it seem like that? You are a foul nikka. This nikka made it in a business you never made it in, so give more respect. You talking about him, no one is talking about you! If you die would you want people to say he died a fat ass with baby mama drama?

YOU ADMIRE nikkaS WHO WOULDN'T GIVE YOU THE TIME OF DAY, AND WOULD BE EXTORTING YOU. YOUR WAYS ON HERE SHOW IT!

I'm not new, just starting over, but talk tough, its the internet so you can dream of being like the people you constantly name drop to make yourself seem like you are in the know of some gangsta shyt.

No one disrespected you, you are just sensitive. Just like you couldn't take @IllmaticDelta giving you the receipts about hip hop history, and not being from Jamaica, then you go crying about him posting articles to prove his point, just to say you don't care what he proves you think it still comes from Jamaica, and he just hates west indians. What kind of bytch shyt is that? You talk all this black shyt, but you can't even be a man, and own up to being wrong!

You are a fraud who just gives knowledge he read, and has these guys thinking because you are older, you know shyt. nikka, you said NYC didn't have a car culture in the 80's, and 90's, when any person who remembers knows exactly what cars were hot in the city, where they showed them off at, and what people were wearing. Your ass was listening to the radio, and had no clue what was going on until you read feds, and don divas!

Like the info though:sas1:

Thanks for the neg, sucka:sas2:
