I was amazed how similar (dusty) Wilmington Delaware and Philly looked. But I'm from Baltimore a very dusty city so nothing was noteworthy to me.

Wilmington, Chester and Philly all have similar layouts, architecture and buildings. One is just a small city, one a town and one a large major city but we have a lot of common with each other.

Yeah Philly 3rd world status :yeshrug: I’m in Allentown (3rd biggest city in PA) about 90 mins from NYC & 45 mins from Philly.
Allentown is 130k Puerto Ricans straight from BX & PR, Caribbeans from BK & ADOS from Newark with some local white trash sprinkled in :manny:
Think of 18 sq miles of ghetto in an area surrounded by Cornfields & Trump supporters
Long story short, we all from da hood & even tho Philly is WAY closer than NYC, we STILL look at that shyt like da Elephant graveyard :scust: only thing worse around here is Bodymore smh
were you born and raised in Allentown?

im from philly and live in nyc....and it seems like everyone in Allentown is always from one or the other...

from what I remember....around the late 90s...thats when everyone started moving there for the cheap housing...before that though it was white trash central along with Willkes Barre and Scranton

Some of yall gonna be mad, but the East coast is mostly dusty. Some of the infrastructure is as old as the 13 colonies. Some streets, especially in Philly, they leave to' up and fukked up because they're "historical" fukk the suspension on your car, because "history". Also, a lot of these cities weren't built to accommodate vehicles in the first place, kinda like Europe. Streets be tight as hell full of potholes. If you looking for pretty and shiny things, you're in the wrong region. We gully out here, and the environment reflects that.

They broke up the homeless encampment in Kensington last week. The residents were tired of it, but the problem of drug addicts in the area and the stigma of living there persists.
City government has definitely failed.

this american fam, its spots in NYC, san francisco, LA, Seattle,Baltimore that look like that ive seen it with my own eyes.

I live in brooklyn, went to midtown manhattan the otherday (34th st) and the dope fiends were literally swarming. even rual america is flooded with opiod/meth addiction. the kensington neighborhood is particulary bad but this isnt a philadelphia problem.

maybe now it is, but i honestly don't remember Philly being this
overrun with homeless people let alone tent cities. that's some
San Fran / L.A. shyt right there.
you speaking on kensington which has been notorios as a run down herion strip for decades like the rest of philly is like that

You are right. There are plenty of places in America just like this. I only spoke of Kensington because I live here in Philly. I know most of the city isn't run down like this, but it's still bad. But I suspect the area is due for a makeover anyway, which is why the encampments are being shuttered.

I mean you talking about the belly of the beast when you talking about Kensington:sadcam:

Philly in general is a old grimy city but dope city nonetheless….It ain’t for everybody but I like the change of pace from the typical poppin city people goose about…

Yeah, I about to say something similar.

The Northeast/East Coast in general, is the oldest region in the entire country so a lot of the infrastructure and buildings, etc have an old grit and grime dusty look due to fact most of the original landscapes have never been altered or touched since its inception.

Yeah, and it's gonna take a lot of money and time to give it a makeover. Not like that's a priority for them (cacs) in the first place, anyways.

Keeping your city shytty just means the property will be even cheaper to buy up. :stopitslime:

Gentrification gonna happen whether you like it or not.

We want them cacs to stay away as much as possible though

Philly will never gentrify as much as other cities. We’re between NYC and DC so they take most of the transplants to the area and we like it that way. The city gets to grow in a stable way rather than everyone being priced out in five years.
