Yeah. The resources are available. Think we have a hard time wrapping our heads around people committing evil acts. Default reaction is to blame mental illness.

But that Evil is a result of physical entities and concrete concepts like hormone imbalances, neurotransmitter imbalances, and malformed nuero-cortical structures. And this doesn't even begin to touch developmental/social issues an individual may have.


You'd be hard pressed to find a biologically healthy, and socially developed human being out here doing evil acts just because he wants to. It's illogical.


Mental health funding seems like the solution breh. World would change dramatically if every criminal was subjected to an FMRI scan before central booking.

The mention of mental health issues in discussions about crimes seems to be done to absolve people for decisions that they made.

That's not a notion that I generally agree with., More important than my opinion, are the determinations of the courts. Most defendants are considered mentally competent to be tried for the crimes they are accused of.

Unfortunately, by this time next week there will have been homicides committed in the states that we both live in. Some will be committed by fully healthy, well adjusted functioning adults. In a fit of rage, a lapse of judgement, in the act of committing a crime, or for another reason they will squeeze the trigger.
And they will face the consequences for their actions.

shyt was already very hard for many people before the economic downturn, ppl are snapping and once they have crossed that line, it's hard to reel them back in.

You can take a person who is in a good state of mental health and have them live outside for two weeks and watch their mental health deteriorate.

There are plenty of opportunities for someone to get help if they are going through mental issues.

John Oliver had a segment on mental health services last night on his show on HBO.

The services that used to be easily accessed are less numerous and most of the mental health professionals we do have access to are white. So if the goal is to find someone who looks like you and understands your experience, most Americans won’t find that.
