I have dealt with Savannah fukkery to Valdosta fukkery. Its all of how you go about your day and the company you keep. Philly, as a native, is a different beast. Heads down and hands to the side which sadly is that case up north
Dude answered whats real. Quite frankly, I'm convinced most folks on The Coli never been to the south and go by stats. The fukkery in the south is scattered by hoods and domestic wild west foolishness.
In Philly, you have to keep your neck in place and look both sides of the street.
The murder rate as it's crazy, its all about density within the city. Somewhere like Savannah where the city is small and everybody know each other is welcoming to be a vic.
Its all about perception.
For instance, when my family and I lived in a college town in Georgia, the street we finally got a nice house in at the time was a low key drug area. But you wouldn't know that because the strip was nice to WOAT in a instant.
Anywho, the neighbors we had next door to us would always get into some shyt. One day, the neighbor's son had beef with the boyfriend of the mother neighbor and started shooting at the house.
I was almost caught in the crossfire when my dumb marsupial ass was trying to get the mail.
Bottom line, this segregated line of thinking is outdated as hell, because it ain't where you from, its where you are at.
