On the topic of Bay don't bang:

When cats say "bang", it's all semantics. They get gang injunctions out there for the same shyt cats do anywhere else. Cats act like you gotta be a Blood or a Crip to equal "banging". They got they own sets and shyt out there, they just don't ride the B or C...

Also, when cats say "The Bay" they really only mean SF or Oakland. Ain't no black B or C hoods in those cities but there are black B and C hoods in the outer Bay that have been there for years: San Jose, Richmond, Vallejo, Fairfield, EPA, all those areas have established black Blood and Crip hoods. But nobody cares about SJ and all the other places where cats are rocking The Movement are small cities and towns so people aren't aware they are there...

SF and The Town don't do B's or C's for black gangs. B's and C's are in other parts of The Bay...

Lastly, it's a misconception if cats think B's and C's muscles cats in other parts of Cali. A ton of Central Valley sets have been established 40+ years. Speaking specifically for Sacramento, there were always gangs before the B's and C's came up. Compton and Pomona cats brought they culture with them and nikkas in Sac started choosing sides, and lok'ed out our own hoods besides the first two hoods. This is always a touchy subject and I've had to debate Oakland cats in the past because a handful of cats from there act like they reinvented the wheel on some street shyt. Not most Oakland dudes, but every once in awhile you ran into Oakland cats who thought they could speak on culture they didn't understand...

End of the day it's all the same shyt. You ain't "not banging" because you ain't under an umbrella, and at the same time, the only cities in The Bay that don't B or C like that is SF or Oakland...

San Jo and Fairfield yeah, Richmond and EPA no. There definitely ain't no historic blood and crip hoods in Richmond at all outside of some Asian shyt near San Pablo that ain't been around like that since the early 2000's. The three hoods that actually hold weight in Richmond are South, Central and North Richmond. They have different clicks within each of them but when it comes down to it, you're from one of those sides.

EPA did have some bloods and crips for a couple years in the 80s but that shyt died out shortly after. I went to elementary school and the first year of 6th grade down that way and the only crips over there was Tongans.

As far as Vallejo I've heard that there's quite a few people in Marina Vista originally from Sacramento and Stockton so I imagine some of them probably are bloods and crips. As far as the rest of the city though I've never heard of bloods/crips in the Crest, Millerville, Hillcrest or Hillside.

Minus two or three cities, the bay definitely has gang banging, from all backgrounds. Even those two or three cities have gang bangers who just aren't loud about it (minus the Mexicans), or they are affiliated with Bloods and Crips. San Francisco and Oakland are filled with nikkas who try to hard to prove they're "different" from everyone else when in reality they aren't at all.

He's right about a couple of the cities he named, there's some small crip sets in Fairfield off of E. Tabor and in East San Jose. They're not notorious at all but they exist.
I can't name one neighborhood in Fairfield so you could be right. Fairfield had 10 murders last year, it's a pretty safe city. I've never seen a black crip or blood from the bay and I've been to functions in every major city out here.

Oakland IS different. I have never been banged on in Oakland a day in my life and never been asked "where are you from?" despite that I was another dreadhead young nikka that dressed the same way as every other nikka in Oakland . The closest I ever came to getting checked was when I posted up in front of the East Bay Dragons' clubhouse on 88th/E14 when I was 16. I was there for the BBQ they used to do every weekend and some other shyt but it was an hour before they opened up. Some group of young nikkas posted up across the street was mugging me but one of the big dogs walked up and asked me what I was doing there before they did anything. I let him know what I was doing there and nobody else came up to me after that lol.

The way they roll in SF is more like banging but the only reason that's the case is because the black presence is so small in SF that nikkas will look at you funny if they don't immediately recognize you and you're on their turf.

What about San Quentin? Anybody know the prison politics in CA and how it affects streets of B and C and other gangs?
